Professional Project

The Master of Communication program at the University of South Australia includes a 6-month work-integrated learning. During the learning, the postgraduate student practises strategic communication at an organisation.

Benjamin Opiyo worked at CRC SAAFE, a Cooperative Research Centre funded by the Australian Federal Government and industry partners to solve Antimicrobial Resistance in Agribusiness, Food and Environments.

As a newly established organisation with about 70 partners, Benjamin conducted stakeholder mapping to identify communication activities of current partners and identify potential stakeholders and intercessory publics (the media).

Benjamin produced a stakeholder mapping and partner engagement plan and a newsletter prototype because the newsletter was proposed as a communication tool in the plan.
